Big Tommy McCarthy is a busy man this week - he's in demand from all the main media outlets and rightly so! Tommy has been a colossal part of the Irish boxing landscape since his days in the HP Unit. His talent has never been in doubt and neither has his honest, personable and REAL personality. There were times in that career where many wondered when or even if that
talent would be realised. He joins Al on this episode to talk about the dark days and what kept him going, he tells us what that win in Italy meant but listen also how he's anguised by the struggles of his beloved community in Lenadoon throughout Covid lockdown when he and many of his boxing friends rolled up their sleeves and worked to help thise in need.
Kieran Farrel also joins Al to chat about his new podcast (link below) his fighters upcoming fights and of course Amy Timlin's Commonwealth title fight on the same card as Tommy this Saturday night.
