I often get compliments about the things I create and so diligently execute. It’s safe to say that many people admire my purposeful labor, but very few see the days where I lay it all down — again.
There’s a constant opportunity to surrender when you’re a visionary. And I’m not referring to waving the white flag, but rather the opportunity to make it well with your soul, even when everything around you seems not to be.
When I’m challenged, the heaviness of my insecurities, ego, doubts, and fears is what I have to lay down. Without demonizing these parts of me, I accept that they are part of my human experience — and I ask God to use them to stir me in the right direction.
When these human elements are at work, I usually become either very stagnant or very anxious — not able to move, or moving too much without clarity. But laying it down brings me back to clarity. It centers my spirit and recalibrates every part of my soul. And I approach whatever tasks it takes to contribute to the vision bigger than me with peace and confidence. But just know — it’s because I laid it all down… again.
