This week on TALK by Turner we're joined by artist, writer, and mental health advocate Miriam Feldman. In this conversation, Miriam discusses her own experience with her son Nick's schizophrenia, the stigma surrounding mental illness, mental health treatment in the United States, and how you can support those close to you who are struggling with mental illness.

When her son Nick was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2004, Miriam Feldman became a mental health advocate and a writer. With first-hand knowledge of the state of our mental health system, she decided to be an advocate for those who have no voice. She serves on the advisory board and writes a blog for Bring Change 2 Mind, Glenn Close’s organization, and is active online, where she is building a community of family and loved ones dealing with mental illness. She is the author of the memoir "He Came in With It."
