~ Why Daruma has no eyeballs? ~
昨日の深大寺の話の続きなのですが、
深大寺には有名なだるまのおみくじがあります。
このだるまは、買ったときは目玉が描いてありません。
何かをした後に左目を書いて、何かをした後に右目を描きます。
だるまに目を描く前に、どんなことをするか、知っていますか？
きのうの じんだいじの はなしの つづきなのですが、
じんだいじには ゆうめいな だるまの おみくじがあります。
この だるまは、かったときは めだまが かいてありません。
なにかを したあとに ひだりめを かいて、なにかを したあとに みぎめをかきます。
だるまに めを かくまえに、どんなことを するか、しっていますか？
Continuing from yesterday's story about Jindaiji Temple,
the temple is famous for its daruma fortune-telling dolls.
When you buy this daruma, its eyes are not painted in.
After you did something, you paint the left eye,
and after you did something else, you paint the right eye.
Do you know what you're supposed to do before painting the daruma's eyes?

It’s modelled after a monk called “Daruma daishi”.

Verb + てある
/ We use 〜てあります to describe a current state
that's the result of a past action done by somebody,
usually for a particular purpose.
eg, 教室にきれいな花が飾ってあります。
（きょうしつに きれいな はなが かざってあります。）
/ Some beautiful flowers are decorated in the classroom.
※ Someone decorated the flowers because they were beautiful,
for example.
eg, 猫が出られるように、ドアが少し開けてあります。
（ねこが でられるように、どあが すこし あけてあります。）
/ The door is slightly open so my cat can get out.
