Tondo san
とんどさん、というイベントを知っていますか？
お正月に来る神さまを見送るために、
1月15日頃、お正月に飾っていたしめ縄や門松を燃やします。
地域によっては、左義長、どんど焼きとも言われます。
子供の頃、とんどさんのときに、焼いたみかんを
食べるのが大好きでした。
東京では見ないので、とても懐かしいイベントです。
とんどさん、という いべんとを しっていますか？
おしょうがつに くる かみさまを みおくるために、
いちがつ じゅうごにちごろ、おしょうがつに
かざっていた しめなわや かどまつを もやします。
ちいきによっては、さぎちょう、どんどき とも いわれます。
こどものころ、とんどさんの ときに、やいた みかんを
たべるのが だいすきでした。
とうきょうでは みないので、とても なつかしい いべんとです。
Have you heard of the event called Tondo-san?
Around January 15th, to see off the gods who came during New Year's,
people burn the shimenawa ropes and kadomatsu decorations
they put up for the holidays.
Depending on the region, it's also called Sagicho or Dondo-yaki.
When I was a child, I loved eating the roasted mandarin oranges
during Tondo-san.
I don't see it in Tokyo, so it's a very nostalgic event for me.

とんどさん/ どんど焼き/ 左義長
（とんどさん/ どんどやき/ さぎちょう）
/ It’s an event where we burn New year’s decoration
such as shimenawa, kadomatsu, etc to see off the gods
who come down to this world during New year’s.
しめ縄
（しめなわ）
/ Decoration made of rope,
it shows “The gods are here.”
and it gets rid of negative energy.
