#generalelection2020  comments special #BRENDANHOWLIN HAS announced he is to step down as leader of the Labour Party in the coming weeks.  Howlin spoke to the parliamentary party this afternoon and informed them of his intention to stand down once the process to elect a successor has been completed.  

 The party’s first preference vote dropped to 4.4% in the general election, with prominent TDs such as former leader Joan Burton and Jan O’Sullivan losing their seats. #SINNFÉIN MARY Lou McDonald has met with Green Party leader Eamon Ryan and People Before Profit representatives today.  Speaking after the meeting with Eamon Ryan, she said:  “I have made it clear since before the election – and after – that I will speak to all parties in the interests of forming a government; starting with those with a mandate for change.
