Get Comfortable With F.A.I.L.U.R.E.
Earlier this week I was having a conversation with a colleague about family, career... Really just catching up since we hadn't seen each other in person since the beginning of the pandemic. One of the topics that struck a nerve with me was something he was talking about with his kids around failure. We talked about how today it seems like kids and young adults feel like if they fail at something it means give up, it means sadness or depression, etc... But in reality in my world, and my background is that is really a steppingstone on the path to true sustainable success. If we can change our mindset to acknowledge that failure will happen in our journey to success, and accept that failure is ok, then our mindset is in a much better place to help set us up for the long haul. We have all heard the phrase FAIL stands for First Attempt In Learning.... I have extended that into FAILURE First Attemt In Learning to become Unbelievably Ready with Experience. If you think about anything in life that you do, it is a journey and you need experience to be successful. If we can look at failure as a tool that helps us to gain experience then we are on the right track toward success.
