How many of you have had this feeling when you've had some success in your life, then you suddenly start to drip by self-sabotaging? Like when you've just started getting into a healthy routine or developed great eating habits and you fall out of it? If you go through this, you are definitely not alone.

Last week, during my vacation, I still had my workout session with my trainer and she asked me how I felt because my energy was a little low. Normally, I am very positive but at that time, I felt low. All these negative thoughts started coming out and I began asking myself what the purpose of my workouts was and why I train so hard even if I'm not a professional athlete. I felt like I was losing my motivation. All of a sudden, I felt lost, and like I wanted to quit.

I am very grateful that I have such a great trainer in my life. She is my health mentor. After the session, she texted me and sent me a picture of a quote that says, "Whenever you feel like quitting, think about why you got started." Then she sent me a long message about self-sabotage. I expressed my feelings and I told her that I felt like I lost my motivation and that's when I realized that it was self-sabotage.

I realized that it happens every time I achieve certain successes, I have the tendency to self-sabotage. That was the moment that awakened me and made me want to share the importance of having a great mentor with you today.

We only have one mind, but there are two parts: the conscious level and the subconscious level.

Consciously, we want to hit our goals and have the life we dream of. We know that want to eat healthily, live a healthy lifestyle, do great things in our life, become financially free, and have all these goals and dreams.

Unconsciously, however, there's this program that's running without us even knowing. Our brain has been subconsciously programmed between the ages of 0-7 and I can recall that. When I was about 6 or 7, I remember that I couldn't do certain math and my parents started saying that it was so simple and I couldn't do it. They had no intentions to speak badly towards their kids, but at the time, it was the best they could do. Now, at that age, everything that happens to us gets stored and programmed into our subconscious, and will be running the rest of our lives.

Now, consciously, I want to be healthy and become active. But subconsciously, my brain is telling me that I am not good enough and that I do not deserve all of this energy. That's why we have a conflict.

So how do we turn this around and take it to the next level? How do we control the way our subconscious influences our lives?

That's what great mentors are for. We need to have somebody who will have our best interests in mind and grow from our subconscious.

I chose to have a mentor in my life and an accountability partner. If I did not have a mentor or a coach to hold me accountable, I will fall out and go back to the old me. A mentor will help you grow out of your old subconscious programming.

Here are two things you need to do to help yourself grow with a mentor:1. Catch the subconscious programming that's causing your self-sabotage.2. Use it as an opportunity for yourself to grow into a better person, to take yourself to the next level.

This week, I will have a coaching session with my mentor and we are going to reset our goals. We will be talking about my goals, what I want to achieve with our program, and we will be discussing what I want to accomplish in 2021 in terms of personal growth - and one important area of that is fitness.

I always talk about the 5 F's - Faith, Fitness, Friends and Family, Finance, and Fun.

In terms of fitness, I am not a health expert. That's why I find the best to help me so I can develop the habit of working out and training.

Finance, on the other hand, is not something we are taught in school. During my daughter's online class today, her teacher was talking about the difference between s...
