VO1: Howard University students and faculty are mourning the loss of Sophomore Music Composition Major, Alonzo Guyton. On Thursday, a service was held at the Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel in his honor.
VO2: According to Police Chief Michael E. Scott, Alonzo was shot in the head and the back after what appeared to be a robbery just after midnight in the Mount Rainier area of Prince George’s County.
SOT: Alonzo’s Classmate Christina Howard is certain that Alonzo will be missed.
“He..he brightened up a lot of days, it’s going to be hard for people especially when you have class with him. I have class with him, so when I go to class, it’s going to be a constant reminder.
VO4: Alonzo’s teammate, Willie Carter with the Howard University football team recalls Alonzo’s final saying.
“He always had this smile on his face, he’d dap you up say what’s up. “Yo keep pushing” he going to be back in the spring“ that’s all he kept saying.
“We’ll always have good memories”- Christina.
Until next time, I’m Anna-Lysa Gayle.
