Andy Baker is the founder of Lurnex and a business architect.
Andy's route into consulting ran through artist management, more than a thousand live events across twenty countries, one of the UK's first creative agencies for musicians, and a crowdfunding platform for music projects. He now describes himself as a business architect on the grounds that most businesses get built in a hurry — shaky structures, sloppy systems, nobody consulted before the bricks went down. He moved his own company into the cloud twelve years ago, went remote before micro businesses did that, and has been hiring across the global talent pool ever since, most recently building a team in Cairo. The Exchange, his newest venture, started as a fix for his own problem: he needed referrals and refused to depend on paid media to get them.
Expect to learn what a business architect actually does and why it matters that most companies were assembled in a hurry, why networking is not working for most of the people doing it, why trust rather than money is the real currency in a referral economy, what going remote twelve years early taught him about the global talent pool, the build, buy and borrow framework and why he refuses to lean on paid media, how he turned his own lead generation problem into a product, why he wants a thousand quality members rather than a million users, and the Bitcoin conversation he sat through in 2014 and walked away from and much more…
