During his most recent contingency deployment, his squadron accomplished significant missions, including combat air drops and non-combatant evacuation operations.

Cretz also discusses practical coping mechanisms for military families during deployments, such as open communication, recorded messages, and support networks. He highlights the need for leaders to be understanding and supportive of their members' personal lives and be willing to make exceptions for important family events. He also emphasized the importance of asking for help and relying on resources to help manage the emotional toll of deployments.
