Summary
A “random” studio invite turned into the moment everything began to change. 4KL shares how one encounter with Jesus pulled him out of smoking, cussing, and a fast-life music grind into Christian rap, marriage, fatherhood, and a purpose-driven life centered on Christ.
Before the shift, 4KL was making music for the world, building a secular catalog, and even running a music marketing agency in that lane. Then a friend he hadn’t seen in years showed up with a Bible on the dashboard, a transformed life, and Christian rap that 4KL had never heard before. That studio session cracked open a whole new world, and 4KL found himself in church, conviction, and a deeper relationship with God.
You'll hear 4KL break down:
- The altar call moment when he experienced God for the first time
- Why his friend’s changed life hit harder than a sermon
- How he went from secular music and marketing to Heaven Bound Music Marketing
- The real cost of deleting a catalog with 100,000 monthly listeners
- What spiritual growth looked like when the hype had to give way to substance
He also opens up about the harder parts of transformation - leaving old friendships behind, learning how to live with conviction, balancing ministry with marriage and a newborn, and realizing that calling yourself a Christian artist means more than swapping one set of bars for another.
4KL is a Christian rapper and founder of Heaven Bound Music Marketing, where he helps Christian artists promote their music with a God-first approach. He’s also building a catalog of music meant to reflect his testimony, not just his talent.
Essential listening if you need proof that God still changes lives, reorders priorities, and can turn your past into part of the message.
