Lisa explains why so many people feel exhausted right after the New Year, even after “resting” over the holidays. She shares how the body stores unprocessed emotions and trauma in the nervous system and tissues, and how talk-only approaches often miss what’s held somatically. Using personal stories (her husband’s deployment, her own anxiety and eating disorder), she illustrates fight–flight–freeze and how the body can finally crash once it feels safe. She then offers a simple guided check-in and somatic practices like humming, tapping, vibration and breath to help listeners notice where tension lives, begin releasing it, and build awareness so the body can feel safe enough to let go.
