Description

In this episode of LET’s Network The Podcast, hosts Emily Harrington and Talia Hreljac sit down with Aly Johnson, owner of CrossFit Kemptville, to discuss the transformative power of fitness, community, and inclusive leadership.

Aly shares her journey as a CrossFit affiliate owner and reflects on nearly five years of building a gym culture rooted in belonging. She explains how CrossFit Kemptville welcomes people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels, while actively challenging common misconceptions that CrossFit is only for elite athletes. Instead, Aly emphasizes coaching with intention, safety, and encouragement, allowing members to grow at their own pace while feeling supported every step of the way.

Talia shares her own experience training at CrossFit Kemptville, noting how the supportive atmosphere and Aly’s coaching style make workouts feel empowering rather than intimidating. Together, they explore how shifting the focus from appearance‑based fitness to strength, functionality, and confidence leads to long‑term physical and mental resilience.

The conversation also highlights the role of community in both fitness and business. Aly speaks about collaboration over competition, the importance of supporting local businesses, and why success is not a zero‑sum game. The episode concludes with Aly offering thoughtful business advice for gym owners and entrepreneurs, underscoring the value of understanding your niche, leading with purpose, and building spaces where people genuinely want to show up.
