This week on the podcast, Jake and Pete dive into darkness as they take a look at Mister Frost from 1990, directed by Philippe Setbon and starring Jeff Goldblum, Kathy Baker, and Alan Bates.
After a wealthy serial killer is arrested and sent to a psychiatric hospital, he breaks two years of silence to inform Dr. Sarah Day that he isn’t crazy at all — he’s actually Satan. Unfortunately for the Prince of Darkness, science and psychiatry have apparently ruined his reputation, so Frost sets out to prove that evil is alive and well.
Along the way, Jake discovers that Mister Frost is basically Miracle on 34th Street for Satan, Pete reveals a deeply disturbing personal grooming habit, and the boys try to make sense of bad dubbing, questionable security, mysterious European geography, and one man’s complete inability to roll a cigarette.
Is Mister Frost an overlooked psychological horror film, or should you just bake a cake instead?
Join Jake and Pete as they find out.
