A medical courier called Brian is having a bad enough night before he gets sent on an emergency delivery through a snowstorm. Then the zombies turn up. Then the dogs start sprouting tentacles. Then things get considerably worse.
We get into Zach Cregger’s mix of horror, action and comedy, Austin Abrams’ wonderfully panicked performance, the fantastic ominous score, some properly horrible creature design, and whether Brian represents the modern evolution of the action hero—or whether he’s just a bit of a soyboy.
There are exploding heads, dubious padlocks, questionable gun skills, a remarkable amount of swearing, and possibly the worst medical delivery shift in human history.
