UNLV head coach Josh Pastner spoke about the Rebels’ mindset after their road win at UC Irvine and ahead of the next round of the NIT against Tulsa.
Pastner emphasized the culture UNLV is trying to build in his first season, pointing to toughness, competitiveness, and consistent effort as the foundation of the program. He said the postseason experience has been valuable for the extra practices, reps, and road opportunities, while also describing Tuesday’s performance as another sign the group is buying in.
He also praised the way UNLV responded to UC Irvine’s defensive adjustments, pointed to Kamani Hamilton’s impact in the win, and discussed the importance of keeping the program’s core together moving forward.
Tyrin Jones also spoke about the quick turnaround, the team’s defensive mindset, the pride of representing Las Vegas in the postseason, and the progress he has made this season.
UNLV will now travel to face Tulsa in another challenging road environment.
