Living with FASD is an educational and human interest show for those living with the effects of prenatal exposure to alcohol, their loved one and anyone interested in learning more about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, brought to you by someone with both professional and living experience with FASD.
This week, I welcome Dr. Susan Rich to the mic of Living with FASD. Dr. Rich, a child psychiatrist in Maryland, has served the FASD community since the early 90s. This far-reaching conversation is the first of what I hope will be several. I think you'll enjoy Dr. Rich as much as I did, as we talk about everything from the history of alcohol to epigenetics and teratology. Dr. Rich also introduces us to Dream Catcher Meadows, a farm animal sanctuary operated by her non-profit, 7th Generation
Foundation.
In a future episode, we will dive into her excellent book, The Silent
Epidemic: a Child Psychiatrist's Journey Beyond Death Row -
Understanding, Treating and Preventing Neurodevelopmental Disorder Associated with Prenatal Alcohol Exposure. To order a copy of her book from Amazon, go here: https://a.co/d/9YaqflH
