Ali Ingersoll has packed a lot into her 38 years! As a child her family moved every 2 years, so she lived in many different places (Germany, France, Miami, Los Angeles, and more). The Bahamas however were their home base. Following high school she went to China where she stayed for a while before coming back to the states for college (Occidental and University of Miami).
Unfortunately while back in The Bahamas, Ali injured her spine in a shallow water dive, leaving her a complete C-6 quad. For the next 6 years, she endured an odyssey of hospitals, rehab, and medical procedures. Once finally settled, Ali returned to day trading, and began writing and public speaking. Earlier this year, she entered the Miss Wheelchair America pageant and won. Since then she's been raising awareness about her platform, which is health insurance advocacy. If that wasn't enough, the self proclaimed "Quirky Quad" runs a website, and is active on social media working on behalf of the community.
Ali took some time out of her uber busy schedule to join me for this week's episode of The QuadCast.
