God's requirement in his law is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and to love our neighbor as ourselves. This is the summary of the entire law of God that Christ himself teaches us. This perfect standard is impossible to fulfill, which points us to our need for a savior who fulfills the law on our behalf.
