Text: Ruth 3:1-18 | Speaker: Levi Bakerink | Description: Now that the harvest season is over, Naomi and Ruth come up with one final, desperate plan to find redemption through Boaz. In one final encounter, Ruth boldly puts herself at Boaz' mercy, asking him to "spread your wings over your servant, for you are a redeemer" (3:9). Boaz responds with joy, agreeing to help her and praising Ruth as a "worthy woman" (3:11). There is a closer kinsman, however, that threatens this plan, and that situation must be dealt with the next morning. Yet, in this chapter of Ruth's story, we see clearly the kind of faithfulness that God desires of his people, and ultimately the kind of faithfulness God shows his people, through the redeeming work of his Son.
