Description

In this Wednesday Night Bible Study, Elder Jonathan Moseley takes us into Deuteronomy 8, where Moses—at 120 years old and nearing the end of his journey—reminds Israel of God's mighty works, His covenant promises, and the dangers of forgetting the Lord in times of prosperity. We trace the path from Egypt, through the wilderness, and up to the very edge of the Promised Land. Moses calls God's people to remember the manna from heaven, water from the rock, clothes that never wore out, and feet that never swelled. All of it was meant to humble them, to test them, and to show that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. This chapter warns against pride when the blessings flow and urges us to recognize that every good thing comes from God's hand. Elder Jonathan draws the parallel to our New Testament hope—that while we face sufferings and hardships in this life, they cannot be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in Christ. Come join us in the Word as we are reminded to observe, remember, and give thanks to the Lord who sustains His people.
