I. Jesus says that confrontation, rebuke, and forgiveness are the means by which we can (and must) rescue a brother or sister we love. II. Sensing the importance of Jesus' command here, the disciples desperately cry out for "more faith." III. Far from taking us "above and beyond the call of duty," Jesus' command here is simply a basic expression of the "normal" Christian life.
