Why apply the sign of the new covenant to the children of believers? It is a picture of Jesus washing away our sins. An infant has no faith yet and thus isn't saved yet, so why apply a picture of something that hasn't happened yet? In order to make sense of infant/covenant baptism, one must understand the Old Testament.
