We expect the story of Jonah to end with a city saved and a prophet rejoicing. Instead, it ends with him sulking outside the walls, furious that God has been merciful. This sermon asks the question God puts to Jonah, and to us: do we do well to be angry when grace runs to the people we had written off? It is a searching look at the heart, and a clear sight of the Savior who, unlike Jonah, died so that His enemies might live.
