In Mark 5:1-20, Jesus encounters a man in the region of the Gerasenes possessed by many demons who call themselves "Legion." He casts the demons into a herd of pigs, which rush into the sea and drown, leading the healed man to proclaim throughout the Decapolis what Jesus had done for him.
