Hey y'all, it's John. Happy Saturday.
I know it's been a while since I've done this, but I promised a few months ago that I would start a series of weekend podcasts called The Comment Section where I interviewed Section 1904 subscribers and got their story and/or perspective.
With all of the talk about Jimmy Kimmel being taken off the air and the stress around late night comedy being attacked by the administration, there was nobody I wanted to talk with more than my friend (and subscriber) Dallas McLaughlin.
Dallas is a comedian, as well as an actor, a producer, a podcaster, a father and a former rapper. He's also a San Diegan who has strong opinions about the arts, comedy and his First Amendment rights. So, I had him on to talk about the state of things and the dynamics of cancel culture, but first we had to give a shoutout to malls.
Dallas is performing tonight at the Grand Comedy Club in Escondido. Go see him! He's really funny!
