Standing With Him
Sometimes we treat our faith life like we’re always chasing after God.
He’s way off there, distant, and we’re trudging through the muck trying to reach Him. Falling. Getting back up. Continuing.
That image is true. It captures something real about the struggle.
But there’s another image that’s also true—and we forget it too often.
We’re not just chasing after God. We’re already standing with Him.
Think of a soldier on the battlefield. You’re not alone, desperately trying to reach your commander somewhere far away. You’re standing on His side, right now, alongside others who are committed to the same fight.
You’re already with Him.
That changes how you see the people around you. You’re not just fighting your way to heaven alone—you’re working alongside our Lord to help others get there too.
Yes, you’re still pursuing heaven yourself. Yes, you’re still in the fight. But you’re not alone in the struggle, trudging toward a distant God.
You’re standing with Him. Right now. Today.
On His side. In His army. Part of His mission.
That’s who you are.
