This week I remind you that God is not finished with you. Even when you feel like you should be further along, His mercy never runs out and His work in you never stops. I want to encourage you to stop grading yourself on an unfinished work and trust the One who never abandons what He starts.

Look What God Has Done

Inspired by real praise reports from the Tipping Point community, these testimonies celebrate God’s faithfulness, answered prayers, and the miracles He is still doing today. We pray they encourage your faith and remind you that God is still at work.

Awakened in Time

By Kari Smalley Gibson, TP Community Storyteller

Sometimes God is already answering a prayer before we even know we need one.

In 2001, Chris and her husband moved across the country for his job. Six months pregnant, she settled into their newly built—and fully inspected—home. One freezing night, they returned home late. Chris turned on the heat for the first time and fell asleep on the sofa.

Soon, she dreamed that all four of her grandparents, who had passed away, were around her. Her gentle paternal grandmother kept urging, “You need to wake up.” Chris resisted. She was exhausted. Then her grandparents began asking, “Don’t you smell that?” Chris assumed it was simply the heater running for the first time. But then her other grandmother—the one Chris says “never tolerated nonsense”—shouted her full name: “I SAID wake up NOW!”

Chris jolted awake. The smell of natural gas was overwhelming. As Chris moved toward the thermostat, she suddenly envisioned an explosion and stopped. The same thing happened when she reached for the wall phone. Instead, she grabbed her cellphone, ran outside, and called 911. Then she went back for her groggy husband and helped him outside.

Later, technicians and city officials discovered just how close they had come to disaster. The furnace system was incomplete or had been tampered with, allowing natural gas into their home. The gas water heater sat beside it. Had it ignited, they said the resulting explosion could have destroyed not only Chris’s home but neighboring homes as well.

But there was another part of the story Chris didn’t know yet. When she called her parents, her father told her that at 3:00 that very morning, the Holy Spirit had abruptly awakened him with an urgency to pray for Chris. He prayed for an angel on her right, one on her left, one in front, and one behind her. He prayed for her to be covered by the blood of Jesus.

Later, overwhelmed by what had happened, her dad asked God why Chris had seen all four grandparents. He believed God’s answer came quietly:

“Isn’t that what you asked Me for?”

Tipping Point family, we may never fully understand all the ways God works in the unseen. But Chris’s story reminds us of something Scripture makes beautifully clear: God hears His children when they pray.

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” —Psalm 145:18 (NIV)

Maybe you’ve awakened with someone suddenly on your heart. Maybe you’ve felt an unexpected urgency to pray. Don’t underestimate those moments. We may not see what is happening—but God does.

Has God answered a prayer, carried you through a difficult season, or worked a miracle in your life? We’d love to hear your story. Your testimony could be the encouragement someone else needs today.
