Something very interesting happened this week. Tucker Carlson, the world's best-known anti-Israel podcaster and self-proclaimed Christian, was put on the hotseat by—The New York Times! In a nearly two-hour interview, host Lulu Garcia-Navarro confronted Carlson with virtually every question you and I would love to ask ourselves. And out came no less than eight classic antisemitic tropes: Jews secretly control governments, dual loyalty, disproportionate power, wealth used to corrupt, media control, weaponizing accusations of antisemitism, blood guilt toward Israel and Christians who stand with her, and dismissal of biblical claims to the land. Like a super tsunami, these beliefs are flooding Western politics and Christianity. But the question this week isn't how we answer these arguments—it's how are people we respect and love persuaded to believe them? I identify ten rhetorical techniques Carlson uses: counterfeit humility, loaded questions, attacking instead of answering, patriotic deflection, claims of private knowledge, whataboutism, strategic confession, populist pivots, pandering to evangelical beliefs, and posing as a reluctant witness to "evil." In this interview alone, he made 25 to 35 unsubstantiated claims and declared seven outright falsehoods. Test the spirits. Armor up.
Will you sponsor books for America’s leaders?
Tipping Point Ministries is undertaking a strategic effort to place a signed copy of Haman’s Lies: Exposing the Ancient Roots of Antisemitism and Why the Spirit of Esther Must Arise by Jimmy Evans and John Andersen, directly into the hands of those entrusted with America’s leadership — every U.S. Representative, every U.S. Senator, the President, the Vice President, members of the Cabinet, all 50 Governors, key national influencers in media and business, and 1,000 pastors and church leaders across the country.
This book documents, chapter by chapter, the twenty-five most-common lies being used today to turn the world against Israel. It traces the ancient template Haman used in Persia and shows exactly how it is being deployed today — in the media, on college campuses, in the halls of the United Nations, and in the minds of people who mean well but have been deceived.
$15 — puts Haman’s Lies in the hands of one national leader
$150 — reaches ten leaders
$750 — reaches an entire state delegation
$1,500 or more — equips 100+ leaders with truth
