I’m coming to you this week from kids’ camp, where I’ve been teaching children through the Book of Daniel, but the news out of the US-Iran negotiations demands attention. These talks are producing whiplash. One headline says progress, the next says Iran’s supreme leader is rejecting even the memorandum of understanding. Khamenei has set 11 conditions that are complete nonstarters for Washington, ballistic missiles are off the table, uranium enrichment rights are non-negotiable, and Iran wants full sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran is quietly building terror cells in southern Iraq. The best word for all of this is uncertainty. But here is what I know for certain: Russia and Iran, the two nations dominating G7 conversation, are the two key players in the Gog and Magog war of Ezekiel 38. The stage is being set right before our eyes. We also finish our long walk through the Book of Revelation today, closing with grace.
