In this episode, I continue my teaching on why I hold to the premillennial view of Christ’s Return using my PREMILL acronym. I explain how premillennialism was the earliest view held by church fathers who actually knew the apostle John, why it’s the most natural reading of Revelation 19–20, and why the incarceration of Satan in the Abyss cannot possibly describe his current activity. I also discuss the literal nature of the thousand years mentioned six times in Revelation 20. In the second half, I take you through one of the strangest chapters in the Bible—Revelation 9. This passage describes the fifth trumpet judgment when God unlocks the abyss and releases a demonic horde upon the earth for five months. I explain who these locust-like creatures are, what limitations God places on them, and why believers don’t need to fear because God remains sovereign over all demonic activity.
