Description

On this episode, I riffed on comments from social media comments I received after posting the following: "

1. I think that the day daylight savings ends is the absolute worst day of the year. Like, I’d give back the hour of sleep for it to go away. It’s more than just the BS of being dark at 5. It’s just...no.

2. Adam Sandler was only part right. Halloween (certainly this year) managed to also last eight crazy nights. What is it about Halloween that we seem to want to hold onto it more than other holidays? Or is it that Halloween gives us license to free pieces of ourselves that don’t necessarily feel safe to in other times and situations? I ask purely out of curiosity."

I first discuss what "grinds my gears" about Daylight Saving, and in the process found my own truth, that what I'm really dreading is the imminent winter and how much it affects my moods. Kind of a Debbie Downer.

The next part goes into why we seem to not want to let go of Halloween, the aspects of it that give us a "permission" to play in areas where we may not feel safe to normally (or at least free of judgments).

And candy. Candy seems to come up quite a bit.
