Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Welcome to Raven's Readings.
I will be reading to you from The Wendigo, written by Algernon Blackwood in 1910. It’s a novelette about a group of moose hunters in northern Ontario, and a mythical First Nations creature, the Wendigo.
Last episode, Simpson and his guide Defago had settled in for the night – sort of. Defago is worried about a strange smell, and he is well aware of stories about the Wendigo. Will they drop off to sleep and face the new day ready for some hunting? I’ll do two chapters together this time, as the first is short.
I do readings twice a week. If you subscribe to my Substack newsletter, you'll get notified of my updates as soon as they are ready. If you enjoy this reading or have other classics you'd like to hear, please leave a comment.
Remember that you can manage here which sections of my SubStack you’ll receive emails for—Fiction, Odds and Ends, Political Bytes, Podcastings, Sort of a Journal, or all.
