The good news is that Jesus perfectly filled the role that Humans were to fill in the first place (as king and high priest), and in doing so, he brought the Kingdom of God and Eternal life.
Every problem people face in history goes back to two fundamental problems.
Every problem we see: The problem of anxiety, the problem of depression, the problem that causes people to be selfish or evil, the problem that causes you to withdraw or isolate, the problem that causes someone to commit murder or self-harm and everything in between stems back to these problems:
1. The absence of God’s presence and
2. The absence of God’s abundant life.
If that's true, then the solution needs to be more than "God forgives you, go and be a good person, and you'll live an endless vacation when you die." The Gospel is more than forgiveness and free entrance into heaven.
If every problem in the world comes from the absence of God's Kingdom and God's abundant life, then the answer to life’s greatest needs is God’s Presence and God’s abundant life which produces in us a new way of life that desires those two things.
That’s what Jesus brought, and that’s why understanding the Gospel is so important.
God’s solution to humanity's problem was sending Jesus to live the perfect, sinless life, bringing the Kingdom of God and his way to abundant life.
But there is another problem: the world needs Jesus (The Kingdom and Abundant Life), but not everyone knows Jesus.
So what's God's solution there? Go and make disciples.
