Listen

Description

In this episode I speak with Samantha Seneviratne, James Beard Award–nominated cookbook author and host of the television series Everyday Cooking on Magnolia Network. The topic is all about baking, and if you think baking is just for the cooler months, you are mistaken.

Sam describes how she found her passion for baking as a kid, and how it led her into a flourishing career as a writer, food stylist and television host. Sam shares how she finds inspiration for her recipes, and we talk about her favorite baked goods (spoiler alert: we discuss what makes the best chocolate chip cookie, and take warning—you’re going to be craving a warm cookie after listening!).

Sam shares easy but mouthwatering ways to incorporate some of her favorite seasonal fruits into baked goods and shares tips for how to become a more experimental baker. We also discuss the emotional aspect of baking, and how baking—and feeding ourselves consciously—can be a delicious form of self care.

You’re going to leave this conversation inspired to go turn on your oven and bake something for the sheer pleasure of the process.
