On this episode of SnackySays featuring Joddie Taylor, I dive into the topic of spring cleaning (any time of the year!) and decluttering, but with a twist.

A question, I often ask is, "If there was a fire, what would you take with you?"
What’s your answer? What would you take with you?
Recently my answer has been “nothing”. ..which led to me letting go of several sentimental items like Christmas ornaments and greeting cards.
Over the years, I’ve donated, sold, upcycled, given away, and tossed SO MANY things. I do not want to keep doing this every couple of years. So after I recorded this episode, I started reading, The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning by Margareta Magnusson.
It feels like it’s already impacting my life for the better. (I bought my copy but you can also find it at your local library)
I will figure out a way to consistently sustain a simple living environment. Somewhere between a minimalist and a maximalist. Or put another way:
“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
―William Morris
On this episode, I also chat about…
* The practical considerations of downsizing when moving or relocating.
* Three valuable tips to make the decluttering process more manageable.
* Some creative ways to upcycle your clothes that you no longer wear.
So if you're looking for inspiration to tackle your own spring cleaning or are curious about alternative ways to repurpose your belongings, press play!
