I almost made a mistake in celebrating an old client/friend recently.
Upon sharing some really exciting personal news with me I almost responded,
“Look at everything you’ve accomplished!”
*cringe*
I was that close to watering down a beautiful moment for her.
Fortunately, I realized my societally-programmed misstep before I responded.
Instead I said,
“Look at who you’ve become.”
That is the real celebration.
Not “what” but “who.”
