Any optimism that remained after a bruising run of results has all but evaporated now. Gillingham were abysmal, yet again, as they fell to a 2-1 away defeat to a very average Bromley side who themselves have been struggling in the league.
After a result like that, the patience with the players and the management is rapidly running out, with intensity, fight, desire and pure honest graft all glaringly absent from yet another insipid Gillingham performance.
If there’s any character in this Gills side, we haven’t seen it, and The ME7 Podcast’s Owen Stanley did a sterling job of hosting a less-than-optimistic post-match pod as he and a number of fellow Gills fans weighed in with their opinions after the team’s latest turgid performance.
