After a Fan Forum that delivered a lot of positivity, the Gills headed to Meadow Lane to take on Notts County, and picked up their biggest result of the season so far.
Despite going behind in the 13th minute, Stephen Clemence’s men reacted superbly, and a towering Oli Hawkins header drew us level six minutes later. And, with positivity surging in the stands, Max Clark marked his return to the starting lineup with a fantastic outside-of-the-boot finish to put the Gills 2-1 up on 35 minutes.
That lead got even bigger in the second half when Conor Masterson headed home from close range to make it 3-1, and the Gills comfortably kept County at bay to claim a huge win as they moved above the National League playoff winners and into the League 2 playoff places.
In a late-night reaction pod, Owen was joined by a host of Gills fans as they unpacked the day’s events, and dared to dream of a potential late run at promotion.
