If there's one thing the last few months have taught us, it's that we can't afford to sit around and assume that everything's going to work out for the best. We have to be diligent about everything. No details are too small. No transgressions should be ignored.

We can't afford to pretend that crimes didn't happen just because they were committed by powerful people, or our relatives, or our friends.

We can't disregard the crimes of history based on the lie that they make us “uncomfortable.”

The feelings of oppressors shouldn't concern us. We need to show respect for the survivors and the victims.

What the last few months have made clear is that the nefarious forces of the world leverage every opportunity to create destruction and fear.

We've gotten into this mess because our elected representatives have been too lazy, too indifferent, and too corrupt. They lack vision. They lack fortitude. They care more about the needs of their donors than of us.

We lack liberal representation. The Democratic party is largely conservative. We need an alternative. When they lose elections, they're happy to get the break on their taxes. They aren't going to stress the encroachments on healthcare, because politicians have access to socialized privileges.

These representatives lacked the foresight to recognize the threat of gerrymandering, or radical judicial appointments. Citizens United essentially made our country available to the highest bidder, and we've lost our freedoms as a consequence.

As we move forward, we have to keep a lot of these ideas in mind. We have to recognize the mistakes of the past. All of them. Or incompetence will forever hold us in its grasp.

Ask yourself, what should a post-fascism America look like?

Imagine it.

Fight for it.

Manifest it.

How is a better future going to be different than the present? What ideals do we have to keep in mind in order to assure that we achieve the prosperous society that our children deserve?

How do we prevent the encroachment and sabotage of malicious forces?

First of all, I foresee that an anti-fascist future will necessarily entail the end of religion. I am reluctant to tell people that we should ban religion because I don't think that's necessary. But we do have to educate our children on the dangers and crimes of religion.

Religion is grooming.

Religion is authoritarianism.

Religion is indoctrination.

We’re prevented from teaching our children to recognize danger, because religious groups complain that these protections rob their institutions of power.

That should tell you something.

The mechanism we need to rely on already exists. The US Constitution demands separation of church and state. There have been far too many transgressions against that concept.

No more pledge.

No more “under god.”

No more “in god we trust.”

No more ten commandments.

Christianity is a form of authoritarian indoctrination designed to control people. That's a fact. It's designed to establish an unquestionable, authoritarian patriarch.

You can read the book if you want, but read it like it's the Lord of the Rings. You don't have any right to run around chopping off people's fingers because your “deeply held belief” is to view wedding rings as the ultimate representation of evil.

You can indulge any flights of fantasy you want, but you can't demand you have a right to scream at my children about them. You don't.

When we erode the individual autonomy of regular citizens, we end up setting the stage for atrocity.

Consider the cruelty of the lies that we allow to proliferate which we never directly, approach. When people say that a lack of faith was the cause of a tragedy, it creates more pain than you can ever know.

People lose their children, and on top of that they have to endure the judgment of their fellows.

It's time to renounce shame.

It's time to embrace mutual support.

We also have to put an end to the disrespect and subjugation of women. We have to respect bodily autonomy. We have to reject any institution that prohibits women from holding positions of authority.

Denying leadership positions to women is how you cultivate a pedophile problem.

Women are more inclined to speak out against those transgressions. If you don't believe me, put women in charge and see what happens.

We are also going to have to finally address the racial injustices that have always plagued this continent. We're going to have to make a commitment to reparations for all the damages our forefathers were permitted to inflict.

We need universal healthcare.

We need universal education, because it's abundantly clear that an uneducated population is not capable of shouldering the burden of electing appropriate representation.

Ignorant people vote for fascists.

We need a more equitable distribution of power. The few hold too much. The many hold too little.

We have to eradicate corruption. We have to stop elevating criminals and pedophiles to positions of influence. All that does is expand their population of victims.

We need to strip the president of powers and make it easier to remove all officials who are guilty of violating their oaths to the Constitution. We can no longer assume that a president is going to do the right thing out of deference to tradition.

Power corrupts whether it's the power of money or position.

We have to establish a norm that people who have proven themselves through a legacy and a lifetime of criminal behavior shall not be handed over the keys to the most powerful office in the land.

Never again.

We have to transform our functional ideology. We have to stop allowing propaganda to proliferate within our media and within our society. Lies should have consequences. We have to establish a respect for people of education, and people of achievement. We have to fortify our adherence to rational thought, scientific advancements, and vetted evidence.

We have to have greater protections for our children who are too often subjected to lies even from their own parents.

We can no longer permit anyone to camouflage abuse under the cover of tradition.

These are just the starting points. We are on the verge of entering a new age. It will be an era of humility, responsibility, and prosperity. That is our mission.
