This morning I logged into Substack and I saw the following note from Adam Kinzinger:
Just an hour up the road from where I’m sitting here writing this, federal troops are murdering innocent people, beating them, illegally detaining them, and hitting them with tear gas.
The white supremacy regime that probably stole the election in 2024 is claiming that anyone who objects to being abused by white supremacists disguised as federal agents is an “insurrectionist” or “domestic terrorist.”
It’s interesting that this regime is calling the protesters insurrectionists, because many of the lawless ICE agents they deputized are only free because the president pardoned them after they tried to overthrow the government.
ICE is out of control. They’re recruiting from the bottom of the barrel. I’ve talked to people in Minneapolis who have seen agents with swastikas and SS tattoos. There are videos.
But while this is happening, Adam Kinzinger decides the best use of his platform is to needle the president over his ridiculous Nobel peace prize stunt.
I mean Adam, come on!
Substack readers have placed a certain trust in Adam Kinzinger. He’s got the purple badge next to his name which means he has 10s of thousands of paid subscribers. That’s a lot of faith.
Right now, people are scared. They’re looking for somebody to help restore a bit of normalcy. Do you really think the best way to do that is to call the president a child in a random note?
I have yet to see a mention from Kinzinger that the US government is using taxpayer money to actively recruit and fund white supremacy groups. It’s deploying these groups to our cities with the mission to abduct innocent people without any regard to their Constitutional rights.
Naturally, the legacy press is indifferent to any of these transgressions against humanity. That’s why the people of this country have fled to platforms like Substack where you get the videos of people in the thick of the action. Seeing what’s actually happening will help activate the public.
A person like Adam Kinzinger is in a tremendous position to use the platform the readers have given him to do something about this. He’s a recognizable republican. He’s got military experience. He has a huge platform which he controls entirely by himself.
What’s stopping Adam Kinzinger from doing a 24 hour live as he walks the streets of Minneapolis? He could put up a huge banner that says, “Adam Kinzinger, don’t touch!” ICE wouldn’t go anywhere near him. They wouldn’t go near any high profile person. That’s exactly why our representatives need to get out there and see what’s happening.
Substack placed its faith in Adam Kinzinger for exactly this moment, and I feel he’s betraying that faith.
For too long, our elected representatives have acted like smug, coddled, entitled jerks. They make it pretty darn clear that they literally don’t care if white supremacists murder innocent people in plain view.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is nothing new. Border patrol, ICE and the police have been murdering people for decades. They’re just become so emboldened and so well funded that they’re impossible to ignore.
But despite all the pain and misery that these out of control white supremacists disguised as law enforcement are inflicting, is there any urgency on the part of our political figures?
Why isn’t Biden out there in Minneapolis?
Why isn’t Kamala Harris?
Send George W. Bush.
Send Gavin Newsom, he seems to like to have his picture taken. What’s the matter, is it too cold up there?
For me, the most infuriating part about all of what’s going on today is the indifference. People in positions of power to spread the word about the atrocities our government is committing aren’t doing a damn thing about it. Instead, they’re using their platforms to make snarky, asinine jokes.
People are dead. Have some respect.
Naturally, if Adam Kinzinger wants to explain to me personally why he’s not bothering to shed any light on the extent to which white supremacists are currently being funded by the government, I’d be happy to sit down with him. But as I’ve mentioned before, guys like that don’t platform people like me. They don’t listen to my concerns. They don’t even take my calls.
Kinzinger is of the class that sits in a mansion and laughs.
I’m of the class that goes out into the street to die.
The only thing he might notice is if he were to lose a thousand or more of those 10 thousand paid subscribers en masse. I doubt that would rouse him to use his platform to actually go out and serve the will of the people, but maybe that money would find its way to creators who actually are resolved to make the world a better place.
Call people. Tell them to go to Minneapolis. Tell them to document what they see. Tell them to talk about it on their platforms and on TV.
We’re being murdered by white supremacists, and our coddled “representatives” are talking about increasing ICE’s funding. That’s where we’re at. Snarky insults directed at the president aren’t helping anyone. It’s time to make calls to defund ICE.
