Hello Friends!
Well, I finally did it, I finally upgraded my profile picture. Everybody else has been using the cartoon drawings my daughter has been making for them, so I thought I’d do the same.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with these. Now that I have cartoon profiles of everyone, I can do little cartoons with them saying things like this:
I do kind of miss the old headshot, but it was from about 15 years ago:
My wife took that picture for the dust jacket of my book ‘Beyond Birkie Fever.’ This wasn’t the picture the publisher eventually used, but I like the smile here the best. The entire book is available for free on Substack. Actually, I should combine all the audio files into one long audiobook. Here’s the start:

Why does time have to be a thing?
Well, I took a look at my daughter’s cartoon of me and I thought it had a “Rosie the Riveter” vibe, so I incorporated elements from that old photo for my new profile picture. I think it makes sense to use an image from the last time the US had to fight fascism to rally the people of today.
Now that I have the template, I’ll keep adding in the profile pics as my daughter makes them. Here’s one of Ellie Leonard:
