We’ve recently seen a former NFL punter get tackled by the cops at a California city Council meeting for daring to object to an official MAGA acronymn at one of Benjamin Franklin’s vaunted American inventions - the public library.
The same Chris Kluwe who spent years booting footballs into the stratosphere for the Minnesota Vikings—has now been booted from his job as a high school football coach. His crime? Daring to suggest that the public library shouldn't be a billboard for a political movement by the same folks supporting the dismantling the Department of Education. Ironically, without books and educated people to read them, there’d be no reason to have a public library to begin with.
Mr. Klewe has written books (often found in public libraries), designed games, and advocated for LGBTQ and human rights in general - all with the same precision he once used to pin teams at their own five-yard line. He is, in short, a problem for people who prefer their athletes apolitical, their libraries ideologically pure, and their city council meetings free of anything resembling a spine.
They can't get our radio signal, but an unintended side effect for our allies. Keep us growing and strong out of LA!
