Description

In Episode 88 of the Rabbit Hole of Research, Joe, Nick, and Georgia take the show on the road to Reed’s Local, where Melissa and Luc join them to dig into what we really mean when we call someone “crazy.” Using George Romero’s 1973 cult film The Crazies as a starting point, we explore psychosis, sleep deprivation, and how madness is portrayed in horror, sci-fi, and music, the long history of women being persecuted as “hysterical,” and real-life cases of the mind playing tricks, from contagious laughing, a dancing plague and the how the insanity defense changed over time. And who gets to decide whose reality is real?

We discussed these questions on the episode and now want to Hear From You (leave a comment):

Do you sleep 6-8 hours straight or in pieces? Has a lack of sleep ever made you feel not quite yourself?

Have you ever had a moment where you wondered, “Am I losing it?”

How much of a “haunted” experience is the place, or how much is our wanting something to happen, or group think?
