2 Samuel chapter 11 tells of David's sin regarding Bathsheba and her husband, Uriah the Hittite. This shameful episode in the life of a biblical hero such as David highlights how the Bible is actually about Jesus. Of all the heroes of faith, all have major failings except for Jesus. David's fall is a warning to us all. If the man after God's own heart can fall into such serious sin, then none of us are exempt.
