Description

In the season of Advent, Galatians has passages on the significance of Christ's birth. One of them is Galatians 4. It says God sent his Son "when the fullness of time had come." Before Jesus was born, believers were like children needing lots of rules about bedtimes, putting things away, no jumping on the bed. When young, you need to follow the rules because parents say so. When older, the rules become good sense. Going to bed at a decent time makes tomorrow a better day. Putting things in their place keeps them in better condition and easy to find later. Not jumping on the bed makes the mattress last longer. Now that Jesus has redeemed us, we have a new relationship to God's law. God's laws about worship and how to treat others have become good sense for following Jesus out of thankfulness for his grace.December 7, 2025 PM sermon at North Blendon Christian Reformed Church
