The virgin birth is a key teaching of Christianity. This is the story of Mary hearing the news. Our Savior was born without any man's initiative so that our salvation would be wholly an act of God. Mary's response to the news is exemplary: “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” Yet, this response would come at great personal cost to her. This is true for all of us. Serving the Lord always comes at great personal cost.
