Welcome to episode 43 of LFTR where we’re talking about some of the ways we think things are getting better. There’s a lot of stuff getting worse right now and it’s easy to feel like things are bleak. Maybe they are, but we’re trying to bring a little optimism and encouragement by focusing on things that may be improving just a bit. We know there’s a long way to go. Nothing is solved. But like…maybe there’s hope.
We’re also talking about our trip to the Northeast in summer of 2022 and rounding out our visit to Maine. In this episode, Clay slightly misquotes an MLK quote that was often quoted by President Obama. It should be: “The moral arc of the universe is long, but bends towards justice.”
Highlights include:
* Clay finally got off the bunny hill!
* Connecting with other nomads
* A major winter camping fail
* A review of our last week in Maine
* Clay’s terrible ideas
* Celebrating some incremental improvements because it’s what we’ve got right now
* The increasing diversity of people in the outdoors
* Diversify your social media
* What we think is good about what our kids’ generation is growing up with
* The rise of sobriety culture
