We're talking toxic positivity, toxic thoughts & patterns, and toxic relationships. Welcome to Season 2, Episode 11 "Joy To The World: When Positivity Is Problematic"

I shared seven toxic thinking patterns that trick our brain and body into relying on them as our go-tos:

  1. Complaining.
  2. Blaming others.
  3. Gossiping. 
  4. Communication blocking.
  5. Rescuing others.
  6. Victimizing.
  7. Making excuses.

Tennille followed up with a list of 9 toxic behaviors that may result from our toxic thought patterns: 

  1. Creating drama in your life.
  2. Trying to control others.
  3. Coming across as selfish.
  4. Using others to meet my own needs.
  5. Being extremely critical.
  6. Showing up as jealous or envious.
  7. Bemoaning our bad fortune.
  8. Abusing substances or harming ourselves.
  9. Being unwilling to seek help.

Finally we shared a list of seven steps for moving out of a toxic relationship:

  1. Step out of denial. 
  2. Keep a log of emotions. 
  3. Identify the perks. 
  4. Fill the gap.
  5. Connect with uplifting community. 
  6. Write yourself a note.
  7. Heal the shame.
